Murat Yilmaz

Murat Yilmaz is a Turkish entrepreneur and renewable energy specialist who co-founded Kavaken to bring data-driven intelligence to the operational management of wind and solar assets. His background combines engineering expertise with a deep understanding of the challenges facing renewable energy operators in an increasingly complex and competitive market.
Prior to Kavaken, Murat built his career in the renewable energy and technology sectors in Turkey and internationally, developing expertise in asset management, operations, and the application of analytics to energy systems. He has spoken at the Turkish Wind Energy Conference and other sector events on the role of advanced analytics in wind farm operations, arguing that data-driven maintenance has moved from a competitive advantage to an operational necessity for asset owners.
As Co-founder and COO of Kavaken, Murat oversees product development and operational delivery, helping ensure that the platform's AI capabilities translate into concrete performance improvements for clients. The company's platform provides predictive maintenance, power optimisation, production forecasting, and real-time anomaly detection for renewable energy installations without requiring the installation of any new hardware.
Kavaken has raised £1.1 million in seed funding, serves clients across the UK and Europe, and has been backed by investors including Rockstart Energy, Bogazici Ventures, Vestel Ventures, and the Norrsken Accelerator. The company has been selected for leading accelerator programmes including ORE Catapult's Launch Academy and the TotalEnergies ON programme.
