Neel Thakrar is a British Indian founder who built tuck. out of Leicester before the company expanded nationally. He studied Economics and Management at Aston Business School, graduating in 2017.
His early career sat close to financial services. He worked as an asset management analyst at Odyssey Capital Group, then spent three years at IBM as a financial management consultant, leaving in 2021 to run tuck. full time. In 2019 he also started Belezar, a menswear label, giving him a first run at building a consumer brand from scratch.
Thakrar co-founded tuck. with Dhruvesh Ranpura, and serves as CEO. The app began as a way to reward people for spending at independent venues in Leicester and Nottingham, then rebuilt around instant cashback on discounted digital cards. It now covers more than 200 UK retailers and over 100,000 users, with backing from Bae HQ and BlueBox Group.
