Pawan Lokwani

Pawan Lokwani is the Co-Founder and Director of Recruitment SMART, a London-based AI recruitment technology company. An engineer by training — he holds a degree from IIT Delhi and has attended London Business School — his career spans more than two decades in technology consulting and enterprise software, with senior roles at IBM, HCL, and Capgemini before he turned to entrepreneurship. He brings to Recruitment SMART the combination of deep technical knowledge and the commercial experience of scaling revenue-generating businesses in the UK and US.

The frustration that led Lokwani to co-found Recruitment SMART was rooted in direct observation: the recruitment industry, despite the enormous volume of data it handles, was still relying heavily on manual CV screening — a process that is slow, inconsistent, and prone to bias. Recruitment SMART's SniperAI platform addresses this by applying machine learning and natural language processing to match CVs against job specifications automatically, producing ranked, annotated candidate lists that allow recruiters to focus their attention on the candidates most likely to succeed rather than wading through every application.

Under his leadership, Recruitment SMART has grown into a global HR technology provider serving enterprise clients across beverages, telecoms, technology, airlines, oil and gas, and retail. The platform has been deployed to improve candidate pipeline quality and sourcing speed for large organisations, including one USD 9 billion conglomerate that reported a 300% improvement in recruitment process efficiency. Recruitment SMART has raised funding from Future Fund and Blackfinch, and Lokwani continues to drive product development, revenue strategy, and new market expansion from the company's London base.
