Puli Liyanagama

Puli Liyanagama is a Sri Lankan-born technologist and serial entrepreneur based in London, whose career has spanned gaming, machine learning, and software engineering across some of the world's most innovative technology companies. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Distributed Systems and Networks from the University of Kent, and has built deep expertise in applied AI and data-driven product development throughout his career at companies including MillenniumIT, King, and Apple.
Puli co-founded Comufy alongside Phil Mohr, a customer engagement and personalisation platform that was acquired by King — the studio behind Candy Crush — where it fundamentally changed how the company marketed to its global user base. The duo went on to co-found DataTiger, an ML-powered marketing intelligence company that was subsequently acquired by Apple. These two successful exits cemented Puli and Phil's reputation as one of the most effective founder partnerships in the gaming and technology space.
Their third venture together, Metica, builds on that legacy. Founded to unite user acquisition, in-game monetisation, and AI-driven personalisation into a single platform, Metica raised $9 million in seed funding in January 2025 from top-tier investors including Play Ventures, 13books, and Firstminute Capital. As Co-Founder of Metica, Puli brings his technical leadership to a platform that helps game studios grow sustainably, unlocking new revenue potential through continuous optimisation and real-time AI personalisation.
