Shahriar Tajbakhsh

Shahriar Tajbakhsh is a British-Iranian engineer and entrepreneur whose roots trace back to Iran in Western Asia. He grew up with a deep passion for computing and technology, going on to study Computer Science at University College London (UCL), where he developed the full-stack engineering foundations that would define his career.
After graduating, Shahriar joined Morgan Stanley as a software engineer, gaining his first exposure to large-scale systems in a financial context. He then moved to Osper, a UK fintech startup building banking tools for young people, before making the pivotal move to Palantir Technologies — first as a Forward Deployed Software Engineer and then as an Enterprise Tech Lead. At Palantir, he worked hands-on with enterprise clients on complex data and analytics deployments, sharpening both his technical craft and his understanding of how organisations make decisions.
In 2018, Shahriar co-founded Metaview alongside Siadhal Magos, drawing on their shared observation from Palantir and prior roles that the most high-leverage work any organisation does is building great teams — yet hiring remained one of the least data-driven, most opaque functions in any company. As Co-founder and CTO of Metaview, Shahriar has led the engineering strategy behind a platform that has become the leading AI recruiting tool used by over 4,000 organisations worldwide.
Under his technical leadership, Metaview has expanded from an AI interview notetaker into a full-stack AI recruiting platform — encompassing AI Notes, AI Reports, AI Job Posts, and an AI Sourcing Agent — raising a £25 million Series B led by GV (Google Ventures) in June 2025. Shahriar is known for combining deep technical expertise with a product-minded focus on user experience, and is recognised across the recruiting technology space as a builder who ships fast and ships well.
