Shiv Sivakumar

Shiv Sivakumar is the Co-Founder of Omni, the UK plant-based dog nutrition company he launched with veterinarian Dr. Guy Sandelowsky in 2020. With a background in investment banking and finance, Sivakumar brings commercial and operational expertise that complements his co-founder's clinical and scientific depth. He came to Omni through a personal conviction — having grown up in a family where dogs thrived on plant-based diets — and a professional recognition that the rapidly growing sustainable food movement had not yet been applied seriously to the pet nutrition market.

Sivakumar found his co-founder through a business partner matching platform, and the two built Omni largely in the early stages without meeting in person — a reflection of the remote-first environment in which the company launched. His role at Omni has been to build the business infrastructure: investor relations, distribution partnerships, brand development, and the commercial operations that have scaled the company from a direct-to-consumer start-up into one of the UK's leading plant-based pet food brands.

Omni has grown to serve more than 30,000 customers and deliver over five million meals to pets globally, achieving £2.7 million in sales in 2024 — 123% year-on-year growth. The company appeared on BBC Dragons' Den in 2025, where Sivakumar and Sandelowsky secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett at a valuation of approximately £3 million. Omni ranked 25th in the Startups 100 index and has secured international distribution through European pet retailers including Germany's Fressnapf.
