Akash Vaghela is the Co-founder and CTO of eXate, a leading software platform that specializes in data privacy, protection, and dynamic access controls. Since 2019, he has been instrumental in building and scaling the company’s distributed architecture, delivering cutting-edge solutions for secure data governance across industries.

Before eXate, Vaghela had an extensive tenure at HSBC, holding several senior roles including Head of Digital Tools, Head of RegTech for EMEA Global Markets, and CTO for C&I Digital Transformation. His work focused on digital innovation, regulatory technology, and modernization of global financial systems. He began his HSBC career as a Quantitative Applications Developer and Programme Development Manager, bringing a deep technical edge to risk and compliance areas.

Earlier in his career, Vaghela gained significant experience across top-tier financial institutions such as UBS, Mizuho International, and Abbey Financial Markets, where he contributed to regulatory reporting, front office systems, and team leadership. His roots trace back to various development and analyst roles in public and private sector organizations, showcasing a solid foundation in technology and leadership. Spanning over two decades, his career reflects a consistent drive toward technological innovation and enterprise-grade software development.
