Vik Kumar is a British-Indian entrepreneur, financier, and photographer who co-founded Camera Intelligence (formerly Alice Camera) alongside his brother Vishal Kumar and Dr Liam Donovan in 2019. He serves as COO and CFO of the company, bringing a background in institutional finance to a startup operating at the cutting edge of AI and computational photography.

Kumar studied Natural Sciences at University College London, specialising in Atomic and Particle Physics and Physical Chemistry, before moving into investment banking at JP Morgan, where he spent over four years in sales across cross-asset class derivatives to institutional clients. He is also a CFA Level II candidate and holds a Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) certification. He joined the Camera Intelligence founding team at the UCL Hatchery startup incubator at BaseKX, King's Cross, where he and Vishal were supported through the UCL Innovation and Enterprise ecosystem after meeting through the Entrepreneur First programme.

As COO and CFO, Kumar leads the operational and financial strategy of Camera Intelligence as it scales its AI-powered mirrorless camera platform. The company integrates a large language model assistant directly into a mirrorless camera system, enabling creators to control professional settings by voice command and perform on-device editing without complex software. Kumar is also a practising photographer himself, giving him direct insight into the product's target user. Camera Intelligence raised $2 million in seed funding in September 2025 from Betaworks, F4 Fund, Next Wave via Flybridge, 7pc Ventures, and Digital Catapult.

The UCL Bartlett faculty has highlighted Vik and Vishal Kumar as alumni entrepreneurs who exemplify how the university's entrepreneurship ecosystem can support founders building hardware companies with global ambitions from within its incubation infrastructure.
