Zain Ali is the co-founder and CEO of Centuro Global, the London-based AI-powered platform that helps companies expand internationally by handling immigration, tax, legal, payroll and HR through a single system. He launched the company in 2018 alongside Asma Bashir, the former managing director of immigration firm Newland Chase, after years of advising multinationals on cross-border legal matters.
Trained as a lawyer, Ali began his career at Bird & Bird, where he worked on intellectual property and corporate law for clients including Apple, Nokia and Universal Music. He went on to a role at the British Phonographic Industry leading IP litigation, and mentored start-ups through London & Partners' Mayor's Business Growth Programme before turning his focus full-time to Centuro.
Ali holds a BA in History from the University of Nottingham and has lived and worked in Buenos Aires and Beijing. Under his leadership, Centuro raised £3.3 million from Mercia in 2023 and has won industry recognition including the Go:Tech Awards' Best AI/Machine Learning prize and an FEM EMEA award for innovation in global mobility technology.
