AttiFin AI is a UK legal technology company building what it describes as Britain's first enterprise-grade AI platform trained specifically on UK and devolved law. Founded in London and relocating to Newcastle, the company is backed by the founders of Scrumconnect — a technology consultancy with deep experience delivering digital systems for His Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service and the Ministry of Justice.

The UK legal sector is valued at approximately £40 billion and under growing pressure to improve throughput and reduce costs. While AI tools have proliferated in adjacent professional services, legal AI has lagged due to the complexity and jurisdictional specificity of law, and enterprise buyers' legitimate concerns about accuracy, hallucination, and data residency. AttiFin was built to address exactly those concerns: its models are trained exclusively on English, Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Irish law, its outputs are heavily cited, and its platform operates entirely within UK data centres.

The platform is designed for law firms, barristers' chambers, and in-house legal teams that need reliable, citation-rich answers and case-ready drafted documents — not generic text generation. Its guardrails are engineered to minimise hallucinations, and every answer surfaces the relevant statutory or case law source so legal professionals can verify recommendations before acting on them. The combination of Scrumconnect's public-sector delivery experience and a product built from the ground up for British law positions AttiFin as a specialist rather than a general-purpose tool adapted for legal use.

In December 2025, AttiFin secured £5 million in seed funding ahead of its planned 2026 launch. The investment will fund 25-plus technical hires across AI engineering, platform engineering, and data expertise, as well as commercial roles in business development and legal subject-matter research. The company's relocation to Newcastle is both a practical choice — tapping the region's growing AI talent pool and established legal services community — and a statement that world-class legal technology can be built outside London.
