Clear

Clear is a skincare app and data platform headquartered in London. On the consumer side, the free app lets users track routines, log products and progress photos, get brand-agnostic recommendations, and learn from a community of others working through similar skin issues — a kind of Strava for skincare.
Beneath the app, the company is building a vertically focused data and AI platform for the wider industry. Brands and clinicians use Clear's data to understand how products actually perform across diverse skin types, addressing the long-running gap in real-world evidence in a category that runs on guesswork and anecdote.
Founded in 2021 by CEO Ahana Banerjee while she was studying physics at Imperial College London, Clear was accepted into Y Combinator's W21 batch and has raised over $1m in venture funding. The app has grown organically to 60,000+ users, been featured by Apple as App of the Day multiple times, and was named L'Oréal's 2022 Beauty Tech for Good winner.
