Hoxton Ventures is a London-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2013 by Hussein Kanji, Rob Kniaz and Charles Sheridan, focused on backing European founders building category-defining technology companies with global ambitions. The firm typically writes first cheques between $250,000 and $5 million and aims to be the first institutional investor in companies it backs.

Hoxton's investment thesis centres on outliers — founders who can credibly build large, valuable, global market leaders rather than incrementally better products. The team prefers technical and domain-expert founders, including young and first-time entrepreneurs, and holds positions for seven to ten years. Partners spend most of their time working closely with portfolio companies on hiring, fundraising and US expansion.

The firm's portfolio includes Babylon Health, Darktrace, Deliveroo and Preply. Now investing from its fourth fund, Hoxton has produced multiple billion-dollar outcomes from a small team and remains one of the most active first-cheque investors in European technology.
