FAQs
How is Bae HQ able to accelerator my growth?
Bae HQ was founded in October 2022 to empower Asian heritage founders to dream and scale big. We've had 6000+ people attend our events, released 200+ podcasts and had 100+ go through our test programmes.
You can look through our history to see how incredibly connected we are to the UK ecosystem with direct access to many of the best investors, founders and operators in the country. We know the people who can make a difference to you and we will give you access to them.
Both cofounders have investment experience. Gurvir has worked at Pantheon Ventures, Kindred Capital and Hermes GPE. Amardeep has angel invested in 6 companies and is a limited partner in two VC funds.
How much does the Baeccelerator cost?
Our Baeccelerator programme is completely free! No costs involved.
Can I apply if I don't have an idea for a product?
No, you need to already have a product with traction in the form of revenue or MVP to apply for the Baeccelerator. You can apply for the IncuBaetor instead which supports founders at your stage.
What are the selection criteria?
We expect a huge number of applications for this programme and will only accept the top 10-15 companies. We're assessing you with our investor hats on for who has the greatest potential and will get the most benefit out of the programme. We're looking for the superstars of tomorrow.
You need to be UK incorporated or based, full-time founders with at least one founder identifying as being of Asian-heritage.
What is the time commitment for Baeccelerator?
The required hours are minimal. Your average week would be a clinic, a check-in, and a mentorship session.
However, you get out as much as you put in.
Show us drive and we can get you in rooms with top-calibre investors, founders and potential customers. We can pack out your calendar if you want us to.
What investment is available?
We don't fix the amount of investment at the start. We watch how you progress throughout the cohort, and the best companies will receive a portion of the prize money from our partners. We also plan to spin up SPVs for our community to invest in you. As we get closer to launch day, we'll be able to put more precise numbers of what to expect here.
Ideally, we want you all to gain investment but we have enough experience to know some will drop out for all kinds of reasons such as health, relationships and external conditions.
When is the deadline?
Applications are open from 30th June 2025 to 28th July 2025.
How do the clinics work?
Each start up will need to submit a short summary of their strategy on the week's topic. A top founder or investor will read these and challenge you in a group about the decisions you're making.
When we say "top" founder, we mean exited or $100m+ valuation. When we say "top" investor, we mean a Partner at a VC fund or an angel investor with 20+ investments.
You have to want to be challenged and be the best you can.
Can I apply if I'm a student?
The programme will be intense and we require founders to be full-time startup founders.
How will the pseudo advisory board work?
We'll put the best founder, investor and operator we know in your vertical in a group chat with you. They'll commit to a call each per month. You can have much greater access if you can build the relationship effectively.
You get three relevant mentors who see the conversations you have with the others and can build on each other's expertise. We got you.
Can I apply if I have a full-time job?
The programme is intense and we require founders to be full-time to participate.
Do I need to be UK-based?
Yes, you will need to be UK-based. Our specialism and our network is concentrated in the UK so this is where we can offer the greatest edge.
Do I need to be of Asian-Heritage to apply to Baeccelerator?
Yes, at least one cofounder needs to identify as of Asian or part-Asian heritage. The IncuBaetor programme is accessible to all.
Is the Baeccelerator in-person or remote?
The programme is primarily remote, but clinics will be in-person, and while you can dial in, we strongly advise you to attend in person for maximum benefit. There will be other in-person events, including the demo day during the cohort to meet the top people from our community. These will all be in London.
Will there be support post-programme?
Yes, especially if we invest as part of a syndicate! Our goals align. The better you do, the better we do. You'll have preferential access to us though support will not be as intense as during the programme.
