Ocushield is a UK eyecare brand that develops blue-light-blocking products for screens, glasses, and lighting, with a clinical-evidence positioning that distinguishes it from the wider wellness category. Its screen protectors are MHRA Class 1 medical-registered — the first in the screen-protector market to qualify as registered medical devices — and the company has run third-party testing with SGS and a clinical trial with Aston University to substantiate its claims around digital eye strain and sleep disruption.

The product range covers screen protectors for phones, tablets, laptops, and monitors, plus blue-light-filtering glasses, lamps, and supplements. The company also runs a B2B offering of online eye-screening tests and bulk supply for employers, with customers including JP Morgan, Barclays, and the NHS.

Founded in 2015 by optometrist Dhruvin Patel after research at City, University of London, the company launched with a Virgin StartUp loan and around 1,000 pre-orders. It has since reached more than 60,000 customers across 60-plus device categories, appeared on Dragons' Den, and won the King's Award for Enterprise in 2023. Ocushield has raised approximately $1.34 million to date.
