Snitch makes an app for people who want to spend less time on their phones but find that willpower and conventional blockers rarely hold. Its premise is that screen addiction is easier to beat as a group than alone.
Users form accountability groups, and each member adds a personal time limit to a shared pot. Every minute anyone spends on a chosen app draws the pot down, and the apps lock once it is spent. Unlocking is visible to the group, and extra time needs friends' approval. The app runs on iOS and Android.
Founded by Imperial College London design engineering graduates Asha Bakhai, Serena Sebastian and Yoshiki Connor Berrecloth, Snitch has passed 65,000 downloads without paid marketing, and The Times reports its users have reclaimed four million hours of screen time. It won Imperial's £15,000 WE Innovate prize in June 2026 and raised £1.25M in pre-seed funding led by Eka Ventures in October 2026.
