Carla Hoppe

Carla Hoppe is a British-Indian entrepreneur and financial educator whose career began in international tax advisory, where she spent over 15 years at major firms including EY and PwC before becoming Head of Tax at Graphcore. On track to become a partner at a global Big Four firm, Carla made the deliberate choice to step away and address what she saw as one of Britain's most underappreciated problems: the widespread lack of financial literacy in the workplace. As a first-generation professional, she had seen first-hand how poor financial knowledge — regardless of salary — held back talented people and contributed to mental health struggles.
In 2021, Carla founded Wealthbrite with a mission to bring financial literacy to life for people at work. The company's AI-powered accelerator programmes are designed to equip early-career professionals with commercial awareness and financial management skills, fostering high-performing teams who understand how their organisations create and manage value. Wealthbrite's programmes have been adopted across the legal, banking, and technology sectors, and its Rainmaker Programme is co-designed with businesses to address real-world skills shortages. Carla is also the voice behind the Rethink Tax platform, a popular Instagram and podcast initiative demystifying the UK tax system for young professionals.
In July 2024, Wealthbrite raised £200,000 in pre-seed funding from a diverse group of angel investors, with 70% coming from underrepresented communities including women, ethnic minorities, and people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds — a cap table that reflects Wealthbrite's inclusive mission. Carla has been shortlisted for Innovator of the Year at the Women and Diversity in Law Summit and Awards, and Wealthbrite was named among TechRound's top 100 UK startups in 2024.
