Saalim Chowdhury is the managing director of Techstars London, the pre-seed accelerator's UK programme. Since taking the role in early 2022 he has run multiple cohorts focused on under-represented founders, B2B startups and AI-native businesses, with a remit to source talent across the country rather than only in London.
Before Techstars, Chowdhury spent four years as a partner at 500 Startups, where he led international accelerator programmes and worked with more than 350 companies across 16 countries. Earlier in his career he co-founded the machine-learning talent platform Skillbridge, which was acquired by Toptal in 2016, and was an early product manager at internet security firm ScanSafe ahead of its acquisition by Cisco for $183 million. He has also held senior digital transformation roles at News Corp's NIF and Reach plc.
Chowdhury studied computer science at the University of Oxford and is an active angel investor with cheques typically between $100,000 and $5 million. His personal portfolio includes Axie Infinity, Nothing and Quit Genius. He invests across digital health, web3, AI, fintech and enterprise software at seed and Series A.
