Doji is a London-based marketplace for used consumer technology, founded in 2020 by Fernando Montera Filho, Satyen Fakey, and Bilal Ishaq Khan — three Oxford MBA alumni who saw an opportunity to apply the rigour and transparency of financial market structure to the opaque and inefficient world of second-hand tech. The platform's name reflects its co-founders' combined identities and their belief in a more equitable, sustainable model for buying and selling used goods.

Doji's platform uses real-time market pricing, machine learning, and standardised product grading to allow buyers and sellers of smartphones to transact at fair, transparent prices. Unlike traditional online marketplaces, Doji operates an order book model — similar to a stock exchange — where sellers place asking prices and buyers bid, with instant matching available. The platform verifies product condition and manages nationwide logistics, making the experience as frictionless as possible for both sides of the transaction.

Doji has raised $3 million in seed funding from investors including Canary, Norte Ventures, and 1289 Capital, and has grown to £25 million in annual UK revenue. The company expanded to Brazil in 2022 and has been recognised for its sustainability impact, winning the Mobile Industry Awards Startup of the Year and being shortlisted for the London Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Award.
