Omni

Omni is a UK-based pet nutrition company producing veterinary-formulated, plant-based dog food. Founded in 2020 by Dr Guy Sandelowsky — a veterinary surgeon with over a decade of clinical experience — and Shiv Sivakumar, Omni was built on the scientific case that dogs, being omnivores rather than obligate carnivores, can thrive on nutritionally complete plant-based diets. The company is headquartered in London and has grown to become one of the UK's leading plant-based pet nutrition brands, with over 30,000 customers globally and five million meals delivered.

Omni's product range includes dry and wet dog food formulated from plant-based protein sources — ingredients including sweet potato, brown rice, lentils, pumpkin, yeast, algae, and pulses — that meet the same nutritional standards as conventional meat-based pet food. All recipes are developed with input from world-leading veterinary nutritionists, including Dr Mike Davies (former clinical nutritionist at Hills and Iams and Professor of Veterinary Sciences at Nottingham University), and are certified complete and balanced. The company is also developing a range of functional supplements addressing anxiety, gut health, dental health, and weight management in dogs. A significant product innovation milestone was completed in partnership with Meatly to produce the world's first cultivated meat cat food.

Omni achieved £2.7 million in sales in 2024 — representing 123% year-on-year growth — and has been stocked in major European retailers including German pet retail giant Fressnapf. The company has raised multiple rounds of funding, including over £1 million in 2022. In early 2026, co-founders Sandelowsky and Sivakumar appeared on BBC Dragons' Den, securing investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett at a company valuation of approximately £3 million. Omni ranked #25 in Startups 100 (2025), joining alumni including Monzo, Deliveroo, and Revolut.
