Thalia Design Automation is a Wales-based semiconductor electronic design automation (EDA) company founded in 2011 and focused exclusively on analog, mixed-signal, and RF IP reuse and migration. The company was created to address a long-standing gap in the semiconductor industry: the near-total absence of automation for analog circuit design migration, a process that had historically been manual, time-consuming, and prone to error as chip manufacturers moved IP between technology nodes or foundries.

Thalia's flagship product is the AMALIA platform, an AI-enhanced software suite that automates the full migration workflow — from Technology Analysis (identifying differences between source and target processes) through Circuit Porting (generating updated schematics and testbenches) to Layout Automation (preserving floorplan intelligence in new physical designs). The platform enables semiconductor companies, IP vendors, fabless designers, and foundries to reuse and adapt existing IP up to 40% faster and more cost-effectively than manual methods, with no loss of design intelligence accumulated in prior silicon. AMALIA is qualified on major process nodes including TSMC 22nm FinFET and integrates with leading EDA tools from Cadence and Siemens.

Thalia has raised over £5.5 million in funding from investors including Mercia Ventures, Deepbridge Capital, and the Development Bank of Wales, and has received grant funding from Innovate UK and the Welsh Government. The company holds partnerships with GlobalFoundries, X-FAB, Dolphin Design, Sofics, and others, and has expanded commercially into Israel, China, and beyond. Thalia filed the £2.1 million round announced in 2024 and has multiple patents in EDA design and applications.
