World Wide Generation Raises £1M to Map and Monitor Progress Toward the UN Sustainable Development Goals
March 20, 2025
World Wide Generation, a UK sustainability technology company, has raised £1 million to develop its software platform for tracking and reporting organisations' progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company provides mapping, monitoring, and reporting tools that help businesses, government bodies, and non-governmental organisations understand how their activities contribute to the 17 SDGs — and to communicate that contribution in a structured, verifiable way to stakeholders, investors, and the public.
The SDGs, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, provide a universal framework of goals covering poverty, health, education, gender equality, climate action, and economic development, each with specific targets and measurable indicators. They have become a reference framework for corporate sustainability reporting, impact investment assessment, and public sector accountability. Yet translating an organisation's activities into a credible SDG contribution claim is genuinely difficult: the goals are broad and the mapping of specific business activities to specific SDG indicators requires structured methodology rather than the informal and often poorly evidenced SDG branding that has drawn criticism from sustainability analysts.
World Wide Generation's platform provides the structured methodology and reporting infrastructure to do this credibly. The company's software helps organisations systematically inventory their activities, map them to specific SDG targets and indicators using a validated taxonomy, set measurable targets for improvement, and track progress over time. The reporting outputs are designed to meet the requirements of sustainability disclosure frameworks and investor expectations, giving organisations a defensible, data-backed basis for their SDG claims rather than a logo on a website.
The funding will be used to develop the platform's mapping and analytics capabilities, build out the reporting templates and disclosure frameworks integration, and grow the client base among companies, public bodies, and development finance institutions that need credible SDG tracking infrastructure.
