Guy Sandelowsky

Dr. Guy Sandelowsky is the Co-Founder of Omni, the UK-based plant-based dog nutrition company he launched alongside Shiv Sivakumar in 2020. A qualified veterinary surgeon with more than a decade of clinical experience and an MBA from Imperial College Business School, Sandelowsky combines the scientific credibility of a practising vet with the commercial ambition of a technology entrepreneur. His dual background — unusual in the pet food industry — is central to Omni's positioning as a vet-formulated, evidence-based alternative to conventional meat-based dog food.
The clinical insight that drives Omni came directly from Sandelowsky's years in veterinary practice, where he encountered daily the preventable consequences of poor nutrition: obesity, skin complaints, gut disorders, and inflammation. He observed that while dogs are omnivores, capable of thriving on well-formulated plant-based diets, the market offered virtually nothing that combined genuine nutritional completeness with sustainability and palatability. Omni was founded to fill that gap, producing nutritionally complete dog food and supplements from premium plant-based protein sources developed with input from world-leading veterinary nutritionists.
The company has grown to become one of the UK's leading plant-based pet nutrition brands, achieving £2.7 million in sales in 2024 — representing 123% year-on-year growth — and serving more than 30,000 customers globally. Omni appeared on BBC Dragons' Den, securing investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett, and has ranked 25th in the Startups 100 index. Sandelowsky is also known as The Dog Dr on social media, where he advocates for evidence-based approaches to canine nutrition and preventative veterinary care.
