Stephen Mai is the Chief Executive Officer, Founder, and Executive Creative Director at Woo, a media landscape for Gen Z and Gen Y in collaboration with ITV, launching a sustainable media business.


Stephen Mai embarked on his professional journey in September 2006 by joining MTV Networks Australia as a Client Partnerships Manager. Over four years, he managed integrated marketing campaigns and facilitated project development.

In March 2011, Stephen transitioned to the role of Commercial Marketing and Brand Solutions Producer at MTV Networks Australia. This position involved creating commercial and sponsorship opportunities for MTV properties and working with clients.

During July 2012, Stephen took on a freelance role as a Creative Services Producer for MTV Europe, based in London. He produced commercial on-air creative materials for MTV and Nickelodeon, contributing to the UK and International markets.

Later, in December 2012, he became a Freelance Account Manager at Think Jam in London. He managed digital marketing campaigns, providing solutions and consultancy to film and theatrical clients.

In July 2013, Stephen transitioned to the role of Global Digital Brand Manager at Caffѐ Nero, where he developed and implemented the company's digital strategy.

By March 2014, he became the Senior Marketing Manager at VICE UK, responsible for growing audiences and brands through digital strategy, partnerships, events, and more.

Stephen continued his ascent, taking on the position of Head of Marketing at the i-D group, overseeing audience development, social media, digital strategy, events, and brand growth.

In November 2015, he joined ASOS.com as a Senior Brand Communications and Content Strategist, leading cross-functional teams to drive growth through comprehensive multi-channel communications and content strategies.

By May 2016, Stephen was appointed as the Head of Marketing, Brand, Design, and Original Content (CMO) at LADbible Group. In this capacity, he led the transformation of LADbible into a cultural voice, focusing on social change and pop culture.

Subsequently, he served as the Chief Content Officer and Chief Marketing Officer at Boiler Room from April 2018 to October 2019. He led diverse teams across various aspects of the organization, focusing on diversification and expansion.

In October 2019, Stephen assumed the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Potato Head Family.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Woo in October 2020. As the CEO, Founder, and Executive Creative Director, he aimed to redefine wellness for Gen Z through a media brand and marketplace that focused on positivity, culture, and wellbeing.
