Jove is a London-based insurtech founded by Amanda Cai in 2020 to solve a problem that has become increasingly urgent as the global workforce decentralises: the fundamental mismatch between how insurance products are designed and how modern contractors, freelancers, and small businesses actually work. Traditional insurance was built for fixed, permanent employment and domestic operations. Jove is building the first truly borderless, digital-first business insurance platform designed for the reality of flexible, cross-border work.

Jove's AI-powered platform delivers comprehensive business liability insurance across the UK, Europe, and the US through a fully digital, subscription-based model with monthly flexibility — contractors can pause coverage between engagements rather than paying for insurance they don't need. The company's proprietary AI validation tool integrates directly into HR systems, ATS platforms, and talent marketplaces, enabling instant automated insurance verification at contractor onboarding and eliminating the administrative friction that has historically made insurance compliance a burden. Jove has reduced the quote-to-purchase journey to 30 seconds.

Jove secured £3.6 million in seed funding in late 2024, led by Explorer Investments with participation from Seed X, Love Ventures, New Alpha Asset Management, Exceptional Ventures, and Start Ventures. The company has partnered with major insurers including Accelerant and Great American Insurance Group, and established commercial relationships with global recruitment leaders including Hays, Magnit, Remote, and InterEx. In early 2025 Jove launched its Pan-European Business Liability Insurance product covering SMEs across 30 EU countries, positioning the company as a challenger in the European insurance sector.
