Dr. Guy Sandelowsky

Dr. Guy Sandelowsky is the Co-Founder of Omni, a UK plant-based pet nutrition company producing veterinary nutritionist-formulated dog food and supplements. A qualified veterinary surgeon with over a decade of clinical experience and advanced training in small animal surgery from the University of Nottingham Vet School, Sandelowsky founded Omni in 2020 after observing the prevalence of preventable, nutrition-related illness in the dogs he treated as a practising vet. He subsequently completed an MBA at Imperial College Business School, equipping him with the commercial and strategic grounding to scale the venture alongside his scientific expertise.

Sandelowsky co-founded Omni with Shiv Sivakumar, whom he connected with through a business partner matching platform. The two launched the company with a shared conviction that dogs — unlike cats, who are obligate carnivores — are nutritional omnivores capable of thriving on well-formulated plant-based diets, and that the environmental cost of conventional meat-based pet food was both significant and addressable through science. Omni's formulations are developed with input from world-leading veterinary nutritionists, achieve 30% protein content, and have been validated by independent nutritional analysis.

Omni has grown to become one of the UK's leading plant-based dog food brands, generating £2.7 million in revenue in 2024 — representing 123% year-on-year growth — and serving more than 30,000 customers globally. The brand has attracted major investor attention, appearing on BBC Dragons' Den where it secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett at a £3 million valuation. Sandelowsky is also known as The Dog Dr on Instagram, where he combines his clinical expertise with public advocacy for evidence-based canine nutrition.
