Pawan Lokwani

Pawan Lokwani is the Co-Founder and Director of Recruitment SMART Technologies, a London-based AI-powered recruitment platform. Of Indian heritage, he holds an engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi — one of India's most prestigious technical institutions — and subsequently studied at the Indian School of Business and London Business School. He brings more than two decades of technology consulting and business leadership experience, including senior roles at IBM and HCL, where he led large-scale software and professional services operations in the UK and US markets.

Lokwani co-founded Recruitment SMART in 2015 alongside Yusuf Jazakallah, with the mission of bringing machine learning and AI to bear on one of recruitment's most persistent bottlenecks: CV screening and candidate shortlisting. The company's flagship product, SniperAI, uses natural language processing and self-learning algorithms to match CVs to job specifications, score candidates, and produce ranked shortlists — helping enterprise HR teams and recruitment agencies dramatically reduce time-to-hire and improve candidate quality at scale. He has been instrumental in scaling the company's commercial pipeline across enterprise clients in sectors including oil and gas, automotive, telecommunications, and beverages.

Recruitment SMART has raised over $4 million in funding, including backing from the UK Future Fund and Blackfinch, and is valued at approximately $16 million. The platform serves global enterprises, and Lokwani has spoken at industry events including the Future AI Summit London on the application of transparent, auditable AI to recruitment. The company is also the developer of Sourcie AI, a sourcing intelligence platform, reflecting Lokwani's ongoing commitment to building AI tools that improve the quality and fairness of talent acquisition.
