Shiv Sivakumar

Shiv Sivakumar is the Co-Founder of Omni, the UK plant-based dog nutrition company he co-founded in 2020 with veterinary surgeon Dr. Guy Sandelowsky. Sivakumar grew up in a household where dogs thrived on plant-based diets for generations — an experience that gave him an early and personal understanding of the viability of plant-based canine nutrition before the scientific literature had fully caught up with consumer interest. Before founding Omni, he built a career in investment banking and finance, developing the commercial, operational, and fundraising skills he would bring to the business.
Sivakumar's route to co-founding Omni was unconventional: he and Sandelowsky connected through a business partner matching website and only met in person two years after launching the company together — a reflection of how effectively their complementary skills (Sandelowsky's veterinary science, Sivakumar's commercial acumen) could be combined at a distance. At Omni, Sivakumar leads the business and commercial functions, overseeing fundraising, partnerships, and growth strategy as the company scales from a direct-to-consumer subscription model into retail and international markets.
Under Sivakumar's commercial leadership, Omni has raised multiple funding rounds, achieved £2.7 million in revenue in 2024 (123% year-on-year growth), surpassed five million meals delivered to dogs globally, and ranked 25th in the Startups 100 list for 2025. The brand's Dragons' Den appearance — where it secured investment from Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett — was a significant milestone in its trajectory towards becoming a mainstream pet nutrition brand. Omni is a certified B Corp committed to carbon offsetting and donates food to dog rehoming shelters as part of its sustainability mission.
