The company was co-founded by Dr. Guy Sandelowsky, a veterinary surgeon, and Shiv Sivakumar, an investment banker, around the scientifically grounded observation that dogs — unlike cats — are omnivores capable of thriving on well-formulated plant-based diets that provide all essential amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. The market Omni addresses sits at the intersection of two large and growing trends: rising consumer awareness of the environmental cost of conventional pet food, and increasing demand for novel protein diets for dogs with allergies, sensitivities, or obesity-related health conditions.
